A short film by high school learners Asenathi Butana (age 18), Nande Adonisi (age 16 ) and Siphosethu Gomba (age 18).
The film traces the story of Dimpho and her mother, investigating stigma and how associated stigmatised and social responses to TB ultimately contributed to the death of Dimpho’s mother. The film was produced by learners as part of Eh!woza, a public engagement programme that forms collaboration between biomedical researchers, conceptual artists, and young people living in Khayelitsha, a township in Cape Town. The programme operates at the intersection of PE, youth education, and advocacy, with the ultimate aim of decreasing stigma and encouraging positive health-seeking behaviour.
Soundtrack by Innocent Muziq .
