Indyebo Emhlabeni: The Challenges of Rural Food Security is a short documentary made by youth from Lambasi in South Africa’s Eastern Cape. Through the perspectives of community members, it documents the realities of small-scale rural farming, where limited infrastructure, uneven support, and environmental pressures shape everyday life. The film focuses on livestock, crops, and subsistence not as abstractions, but as daily negotiations, revealing the systemic gaps that undermine rural food security and the persistence required to survive within it.
