Unseen Battles: Surviving the Jobless Storm is a short film by grade 10 learners from Simanyene High School in Strand, living in Asanda Village. Today, unemployment in South Africa stands at a staggering 32.9%. Despite harsh times, 16.7 million people are employed as of Q1 2024. Although this employment rate has remained stable over the past three quarters, high unemployment fuels poverty, inequality, crime, and instability. Families are struggling financially due to a lack of money and jobs. Motivation is low among those looking for employment.
