What's Antimicrobial Resistance?
Did you know that around 39 trillion microbes live in and on our bodies?
Most of these microbes are beneficial and crucial to our health. However, a few can cause infections, and that’s when we rely on antimicrobials like antibiotics. Today's challenge is that some bacteria are evolving and becoming resistant to these medicines, making infections more difficult to treat. This, known as Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), is a growing global concern with serious health implications.
