Where do aerosols come from? We recently collaborated with Bhekisisa Centre for Health Journalism on a video about masks and how they reduce the transmission of aerosols. The animation uses the metaphor of a rocket to describe how respiratory particles break apart and result in smaller particles called aerosols, which have the capacity to transmit pathogens e.g. SARS-CoV-2.
